The best AI writer vs the best ecosystem play. Claude writes better — but Gemini integrates with everything you already use. Which matters more for your workflow?

Coding
Claude Code (terminal + VS Code integration) is one of the best AI coding agents available. It understands large codebases exceptionally well (1M context), writes clean maintainable code, and excels at refactoring and architecture. For serious development work, Claude is the better tool.
Gemini is a capable coding assistant — it can write, debug, and explain code across most languages. Verdict
Pick Claude if: Your primary use is writing (articles, marketing, creative) or coding (especially in large codebases). Claude's prose quality is unmatched, and Claude Code is a serious development tool. The 1M context window is genuinely transformative for document-heavy work.
Pick Gemini if: You live in Google Workspace and want an AI that integrates with your email, docs, and calendar. Or if you want features Claude doesn't have — image generation, video generation, voice conversations. Gemini is the better "do everything" tool.
My take: For most professionals whose work is primarily text-based (writers, developers, analysts, lawyers), Claude is the better choice — its quality advantage in the core text experience outweighs Gemini's feature breadth. For users who want an AI companion across all their digital activities, Gemini's ecosystem integration is the killer feature.
